Our Next Concert
Charity concert for RNLI at St Mary Oatlands Saturday 12th April at 7.30pm
The choir is delighted to be giving this concert for two very good reasons: RNLI is a very worthwhile cause; and this will be a new experience for the choir-we have not sung at St Mary Oatlands for many, many years.
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is the charity that saves lives at sea, in and around the UK and Eire. 236 lifeboat stations - four along the River Thames and four inland in Scotland and Ireland; 1,000 RNLI Lifeguards covering 200 beaches around the UK; and specialist flood rescue teams across the UK and Ireland: all resources are devoted to combat water putting lives at risk.
The Sounds of Spring . . .
With the advent of a welcome Spring comes the choir's flagship Spring Concert, being held once again in the Catholic Church of Christ the Prince of Peace in Weybridge, on Saturday 10th May. This year our guests will be The Tiffinians, a student-run close-harmony singing group from the renowned Tiffin School in Kingston upon Thames.
When the Weybridge Male Voice Choir performed in the prestigious venue of St Pauls, Knightsbridge for Prostate UK last December, The Tiffinians also took part. They were terrific entertainment, which is why we have invited them to be our guests in our Spring Concert. You will love the polish and the humour of their wonderful A Cappella singing.
Concert Cancellation - 8 March 2014
We have been advised by the Mayor of Spelthorne that, regretfully, the charity concert planned for Saturday 8 March at St Peter's Church, Staines will not now take place.
It is hoped to hold the concert at a future date.
Thank You Toshiba!
Our annual concert for the elderly and disabled of the local community took place once more at the Chertsey Hall on the afternoon of Saturday 25 January. This event has been wholly sponsored by Toshiba Information Systems (UK) Ltd, based in Weybridge, for the past 16 years, offering free entertainment to an appreciative audience.
