20th August, 2019 - 30 years on...
30 years ago on 20 August the Marchioness disaster occurred, which saw 51 people die as a result of two vessels colliding in the early hours of the morning on the river Thames. The average age of the people on board was 22!
At our rehearsal on the evening of the anniversary the choir came together and performed the first two verses of a setting of Tennyson's poem, 'Crossing The Bar' in memory of all those who lost their lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost someone.
