The choir took to the road on Saturday 5 October, visiting St Albans to give a lunch-time concert in the famous cathedral. The long nave of this magnificent building with its superb acoustic provided a perfect setting for a varied programme of music, with a selection from the full range of the choir's repertoire. The concert also included a solo spot from the choir's accompanist for the day, talented young pianist Jonny Lane.
On the way in the morning the choir stopped off briefly in Harmondsworth to take a look at the historic 15th century Great Barn; and after the concert and a look round the city, finished the day with an excellent dinner at Café Rouge. Both these venues, of course, provided an opportunity for further singing!
